Andy Lucas
Andy Lucas was trained in the Stanislavski method at East 15 Drama School (Joan Littlewood and Margaret Berry). His first job after graduating was a nationwide tour of England with Berthold Brecht's 'Fears' and 'Miseries of the Third Reich' where he was spotted and given his first break in films with a part in John Schlesinger's 'Yanks' with Richard Gere and Vanessa Redgrave.
It was to be the first in a long series of American parts that Andy has played including a role in Warren Beatty's 'Reds' and most recently 'How to Loose Friends and Alienate People' other films include 'Alien Vs Predator' 'Quadrophenia' 'Sexy Beast and 'Half Moon Street'.
With a Fuji Film scholarship he co wrote, produced and starred in 'Just Looking' which won several BAFTA awards including one for him personally. Andy's long and extensive TV career encompassing 'Minder' 'The Professionals', 'Birds of a Feather', 'The Bill' 'Judge John Deed', 'Hotel Babylon', 'Benidorm' 'Casualty' 'Lovejoy' 'Spaced' 'Auf Wiedershen Pet' 'The Line of Beauty' 'Lock Stock The TV Series' 'Soldier, Soldier' and the infamous 'Eldorado'.
West End Theatre credits include 'Cross from the Garden of Allah' at the Comedy Theatre with Glenda Jackson and Nigel Hawthorne. Extremities with Helen Mirren the award winning 'Short Eyes' at the Young Vic and 'Death' by Woody Allen at the Donmar Warehouse, a pioneering show which provided the inspiration for the charity Childline and 'The Complete Casanova' at the Warehouse Theatre.
Andy has produced and directed many theatrical shows, on the Fringe, Mainstream, The West End, The Donmar Warehouse, Jermyn Street and Hampstead. He also performs on Radio, in drama, comedy and voice over work.
Work commitments permitting, Andy conducts ongoing method workshops for professional actors wishing to stretch themselves whilst enjoying an environment of creative freedom.
