Javon Anderson

Javon Anderson

Javon Anderson grew up in Detroit and played football and attended Chadsey High School and then Wayne State University before finding his passion for acting as an extra in the film Conviction. He credits his aunt Sherita Walker of Detroit with finding him the opportunity that changed his life. From there Javon auditioned for whatever he could, films, commercials, and TV projects, including the film Goosebumps with Jack Black in 2014 when he flew out to Hollywood as one of the last two contenders for a starring role, that he eventually lost out on due to his weight. The rejection inspired Javon to miraculously lose 135 pounds in 7 months transforming himself from an overweight former nose tackle into a fit and muscular leading man. His commitment to weight loss and fitness spurred interviews on Good Morning America and Yahoo Health's Weight Loss Win series. The metamorphosis greatly impacted his acting career, where he soon booked roles in national commercials, and feature films like The End of the Tour, Royals Family Christmas, and Heartlock. The culmination of Javon's training and commitment occurred in February of 2019 when he auditioned for the new Steven Soderbergh release No Sudden Moves where in one audition, he landed the role of his lifetime. Cast as Lonnie, who like Javon, is a classic Detroit story about fighting back against the odds: "Lonnie had a rough childhood, grew up poor, but has decided to make his life better by working at one of Detroit's grand hotels." In the film, Javon acts alongside Golden Globe Winner Don Cheadle and Academy Award Winner's Benicio Del Toro and Matt Damon to name just a few of the Hollywood All-Stars!
