Joseph Schwartz was born, along with his twin brother Derek, to Paul and Melinda in the morning on Halloween in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended college up North in Moorhead, Minnesota, a city adjacent to Fargo, where he studied acting. After graduation, he made the move to Los Angeles. Here, he began to study Meisner Technique at The Taylor School of Acting with Alex Taylor.
