Massimo Dobrovic
Massimo Dobrovic is an International, Professional Actor based in Los Angeles, CA. He is academically trained at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He speaks 5 languages fluently and acts in all these languages (English, Italian, Spanish, Croatian, Serbian). Massimo was born within the Istrian Italian minority in Istria (Croatia) cause his father is of Croatian descent while his mom from an Italian background. Istrian Italians are an ethnic group ( a national minority) in the northern Adriatic region of Istria, referred to as the Italian people of Italy. Historically they are descendants from the original Latinized population of Roman Istria, from the Venetian-speaking settlers who came to Istria during the time of the Republic of Venice. For this reason, Massimo has two last names De Lorenzi and Dobrovic, he is mostly known with his Croatian last name as Massimo Dobrovic. This rich cultural background gives him the possibility to extend from Italian and Latin roles all the way to Eastern European and Russian characters. He does an enormous amount of accents and dialects, New York, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Bosnian, Slovenian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Cockney. He perfectioned his Standard American Accent as well as his Standard British Accent. He began acting at an extremely young age in theaters and then he moved to Television and Film in 2003 when he first landed in Hollywood. Massimo has an extensive acting-career in Europe and North America. In the U.S he is pursuing a variety of roles in movies and television. He is known for making uncommon and incredibly strong choices in his acting, bringing his characters alive with a unique and energy-twist method. He has been working in the Hollywood Industry for the last eighteen years. He is most passionate about helping new perspective actors navigating inside the world of Showbiz.. As part of his CHARITIES program, it is due to distinguish the following: He is the funder and creator of the Theater Arts Program at Desert Aids Project ( ACTING as the ideal therapy to escape isolation and other related mind problems), HE is part of the Executive Committee for the Downtown Los Angeles Hospital-California Medical Center-Dignity Health and funder of implementing Cinema and Theater in all United World Colleges of the world as part of the honorable IB Diploma. He graduated from UWCAD in 2001, now UWC is part of his charity program in partnership with the UNITED NATIONS Refugee Program, together they established the goal for the next 10 years to offer a firm program where all 18 UWC around the world can offer the possibility to new scholarship-awarded Refugee Students to study Cinematic and Theatrical Arts as part of their official SL or HL subjects. He is also a spokesperson and ambassador for: Autism Care and Treatment Network, Say NO Bullying, Human Rights Campaign, LGBT Center Los Angeles, Midnight Mission, The Actor's Society, and Film LA.
